Professor Jeffrey said that zombies have become a part
of religious ceremonies in Carribbean communities
most prominently in Haiti.
And when Haiti was occupied by the US Marine Corps
at the beginning of the 20th century
the name "zombie" came back to America,
particularly Hollywood.
Hollywood made its first film about zombies
in 1932, with the movie "White Zombie".
That is the source of the word "zombie".
